Kaya Forest Kinondo
The word “Kaya” means family property in the local dialect.
Mijikenda groups moved and settled in the surrounding areas, but the Kaya forests were preserved as sacred places where prayers, rituals, sacrifices and burials took place. It’s a lovely hour-long walk just 10 minutes from Diani.
