Typical bush villages

A wonderful cultural and interesting walk in the bush in a minibus with a guide, slowly, to have time to recognize fruit trees like cashew, banana, mango, papaya, some pineapple. The vegetation is verdant even during the dry season.
The whole village is there to welcome you: the mamas will explain the Swahili cuisine based on coconuts and let you taste the cassava, sugar cane and coconuts; the young boys will try to get your first name in order to make you a woollen bracelet; the sorcerer, who is also the village chief, will introduce you to his herbal medicines, for which only he knows the formula; and the children will show you around their school.
Then listen to the tam tam and take part in typical dances. Small stalls sell small objects made of wood and baobab nuts, tam tam, and the mamas have a lovely selection of pareos at very reasonable prices.
